A 36 hour hug (or, bras aren't uncomfortable)
Since buying the two bras, for my Gynaecomastia, in my previous post I've also been given one of my wife's discards - a soft crop top bra from Primark.
The Primark bra was suggested as a 'sleep bra' to help me with my difficulty finding a comfortable sleeping position - which the doctor dismissed as my needing to "get used to a different body shape". However this soft support has miraculously allowed me to get back to sleeping on my side.
I wore the first bra - the one with the supplied padding removed - on the first evening without any drama. The band kept rolling up a bit because it was being pushed up by my fat belly, but it was keeping my breasts firmly in their place. My nipples were clearly visible through the bra cup, but not through a tee shirt. My wife found a Primark bra that had some thin removable padding - putting that in this bra worked a treat.
Today I wore the Goodmove Sports Bra all day as I was both cycling and taking part in some gentle exercise. It's been a resounding success. It's stayed firmly in place and has stopped all hint of movement. I've only had the slightest hint of breast pain or sensitivity, and no nipple problems.
The only thing I've experienced has been underarm discomfort. The armholes (between the side of the cups and the straps) is a bit small, causing a bit of pressure in my armpits. It doesn't seem to be quite so simple though because loosening the straps seems to make matters worse!
It's been warm today, but I've not had any issues with sweating or overheating. This might be me, but more likely down to the technical fabric.
Apart from the lack of discomfort from breast movement I've felt like I've been gently hugged all day across my chest. It's a very strange sensation, but certainly not unpleasant.
On this basis I've ordered a sports bra from Amazon, a couple of soft crop tops and an inexpensive underwired bra from eBay.
I'm a gynaecomastia convert!
