M&S Underwired Demi-Cup Bra Review
Based on various comments on Reddit and elsewhere I decided to try a wired bra. Underwires seem to be a frequently suggested option for men with my condition.
The AbraThatFits.org calculator consistently sizes me (as AMAB) as 40B and I have shallow breasts which seems to be a tricky combination.
I went into the murky world of ChatGPT for specific advice, which once I'd sorted out the nonsense (bras that don't exist, shops that closed years ago etc) I narrowed down my choice down to the inexpensive Marks & Spencer Jasmine Demi-Cup (£10) which was apparently available to try on in a variety of colours in my local shop according to the online checker.
It wasn't that simple!
Firstly M&S only use most of the range names online - they aren't named on the shop displays, and the colour selection was very poor compared to online. The checker was very optimistic!
In the end I tried 40B / 40A then 38B before finally settiing on a 38A in a gruesome green as the only one available!
I also brought home a black 38B which is OK, but only because of the light padding.
I had expected wires to be horribly uncomfortable, but these are far more supportive and fitted than any of my wireless bras. The main thing I've noticed is how the bra moves with me rather than being a passive participant in my day!
The padding is sufficient to protect my sensitive nipples and to hold the shape, but it's definitely not a moulded tee shirt bra.
There's a bit of lace detailing, but it's not overly feminine for this old bloke.
The Demi-Cup suits my shape perfectly, but if I've got one small criticism it's that the straps are too short - I seem to be almost on the limit of the adjustment on both the bras.
And - why are M&S sizes so strange?
