That No One Cares - A Realisation
Having spent a week with a holiday group in a foreign country, I've come to realise something that should have been obvious.
No-one is looking.
No-one is staring
No-one is pointing
No-one cares
Everyone is wrapped up in their own world and they haven't got much headspace for people who don't fit their vague definition of 'slightly outside the expected'
Yes, I've got man-boobs and I need to wear a bra for comfort. Get over it!
If that's a problem for you, then it's not a problem I'm going to care about for you.
I'm not going to flaunt my underwear or my chest, but my outer clothing, the way I stand, walk and dress - being under the influence of my new body shape - are nothing to do with you.
Before we left for our holiday I was getting to the position of "If I look odd then it's your problem not my problem" but the week away moved me on beyond that.
They don't notice and I don't care.
I can stand tall and proud. Chest forward, shoulders back
(And it's actually more comfortable that way anyway!)
